Meljen's Designs Challenges

Hi again

Meljen's Images are one of my absolute favourites!  I got a freebie on her blog, and here is what I have done with it!

Her challenge : I see Double, was something else- you need to use the same image, but in double, on your card - how fun is that!

The paper, flowers and rhinestones are from my scrapbox.  My freebie image was coloured with copics.
I just love cupcakes ( you can see it in my figure - ha-ha).

Please leave a comment! It's always nice to hear from you.

Bunny Zoe's Craft Challenge 3 Vintage

Hello all bloggers

Hope you had a fantastic Sunday.

I had a terrible flu last week, and it kept in bed!!  But now I am all better and I can start making some cards again.

I just love Bunny Zoe's Craft Challenges.  The card I made is for their Challenge 3: Vintage

The punch and image I used, is from my "scrapbox".  The beautiful green paper is from W& M.
Of course, pearls is a must for vintage, and then I found these pretty roses from one of our shops nearby.  I coloured my image with copics.  As you see in all my cards, I love to ink!!!  I used green ink from Scrap Box.

I do hope you enjoy my card, and, please leave a comment, I just love reading them.

I'm still here!

Hi everyone

Just a short post to tell you I'm still here, although I did not take part in any challenge this week!!!  Can you believe it?

My husband and I am looking into a new venture, and that kept me busy the whole week.  I can't wait to tell you about it, but there are still some things to sort out -  AND we hope we will get if off the ground - there are still some answers we are waiting for, before we can make our final decision.

I'll see you in some challenges this week - hopefully! (kids homework - homework - homework - the teacher's love giving stuff mommy needs to help with)

This is the card I made for Isabella's Cut out challenge :  I just love the apron, and when I saw the sale, well, who could resist buying more than one.
One of my favourite colour combinations is blue and brown, and  so I decided to use it on my card:
What did I use?
White, blue and brown American Cardstock
Isabella's image, coloured with my copics
Blue rhinestones
Blue flower cut-out, done with my cricut. (Wild card cartridge)
Blue ribbon and paper with stripes from my "scrapbox"

Kenny K's Challenge: #2

Hi there

Thank you for all the lovely comments I receive on my cards.  It is absolutely wonderful and relaxing to go and sit down and to create a card.
My next card I made is for the Kenny K's Challenge #2.

The Kenny K image is just adorable and I used my copics to do the colouring.  My old faithful cricut came in handy for the cut-outs.  I used the cuttlebug to emboss my purple frames.  Of course, rhinestones, you just cannot make a card without them!  The paper is from my "scrapbox". (Believe me, my scrapbox is  full of different papers.)
The sketch was a nice challenge, and something different for me.

Hope you like her!

Hi everyone

Thank you for all my lovely comments I received on my "Take a Break" Isabella's Challenge.

Wonderful news for me - the shop were I bought my ProMarkers exchanged them for Copics.  Now, can someone tell me what is the best paper to use with copic markers.  Thanks so much. As you know, I'm still new in this, but I  want to learn everything there is.

Pro-Marker

Goodmorning everyone

Cape Town is absolutely freezing! I just cannot get warm!
I really got a problem.  I bought the "cheaper" Pro-Markers (Copic's is a bit expensive for me), but now it bleeds on every paper I use.  Today I will be going back to the store where I bought it , but the lady couldn't help me on Saturday.  While I was there she had a phone call about "bleeding Pro-Markers", her answer where, use paper that do not bleed!! Well, she could not assist me on which paper that will be!!!!!!!! Maybe I should not have bought it, but well, I did. Now, what to do?  Can someone help me?  I just think you cannot spend so much money and then the markers can't be used on the same paper I used for one of the Copic's I have.
I really would like to hear from you.

Challenge #15 - Love my Teddy

Hallo everyone

Thank you for all my lovely comments I received on my "I love Tulips" card - it was nice hearing from you.

I post my new challenge for you by Teddy Stampers - challenge #15.  I just could not resist the Whimpsy stamp of the girl with her teddy.  She's got such an adorable face!
I used my old faithful cardstock in white and pink.  The background paper in from doodlebug design inc.
To colour my girl and her teddy, I used my watercolour pencils and baby oil technique.  Of course, she needed some glitter, so the stickles provided that in crystal and for teddy, bronze. Green rhinestones was used and in the flowers I put some pearls. I fell in love with the ribbon, so it had to be used!

Hope you enjoy my card.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge 14: Anything Goes

Hallo all!

I was one of the lucky winners of Isabella's first blog hop!
I've chosen in great delight my prize and decided on "I love Tulips".  I used this digi stamp for my entry in challenge 14.  Hope you will like it. I enjoyed making it.

I love my cardstock, I used white for the card and red to start decorating my card.
I used my Upikit corner punch and Upikit heart punch.  Of course my digi stamp of Isabella's:  I love Tulips that I coloured with my Colleen Water Colour pencils.  I used Color Box ink green and red for inking the borders.  On the digi stamp I used my crystal stickles to brighten thing up a bit.  Of course... the Cuttlebug as used to emboss my little red hearts.

Crafty Friday

Good day to you all!

Well I had a really crafty Friday. My sister and her daughter visited me and we did some great projects.
You will, however, have to wait to see my project, as it is something I will keep for you for October.  I can give you a hint - Christmas Time!  (You will notice that it is my favourite time of year!)

My sister's project is so beautiful, I would like to share it with you:

We bought wooden boxes to decorate to our liking.  She painted the box with Pearl Yellow craft paint.
She pasted the print on the box with craft glue and then used deco podge.  Decorating was the fun part!  It came out absolutely beautiful.  Well done, Lynette!

Recipe Tin

Ran out of ideas for a recipe album? Well I did! I already made 3 for gifts, and as I am very fond of cooking and baking, I wanted to make another one. One of my "scrap" girlfriends gave me the most beautiful decorated tin that she made, for Christmas, and I thought Ah-Ha! What about a recipe tin?

So there you go, it was really fun. It will make a great gift for a kitchen tea or any other occasion.

A slide show of this tin in the making, you can find under the Recent Projects tab.
